A Haunted Wedding Dress? And You Thought Your Wedding Was Stressful!
Well, it's almost Halloween. I've written about Haunted Wedding Venues before at Halloween Wedding Venues and Haunted Wedding Venues in California, so am offering for your Halloween consideration a haunted wedding dress.
It's true! Said haunted wedding dress is located in the historic Baker Mansion in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Now the home of the Blair County Historical Society, Baker Mansion was built in 1849 by Elias Baker for his family. Apparently Elias Baker was a real control freak, because he wouldn't allow his daughter, Anna, to marry the man she loved and to whom she was engaged. So, she packed her wedding dress away and never married!
Well, apparently Anna never got over the disappointment of never marrying, because she is said to be haunting the wedding dress which is on display on the second floor. Mind you, it's not even her wedding dress, but the dress of another area resident who married in 1830.
Anyway, many say the Mansion is haunted, particularly around the wedding dress, which, legend has it, has even been found shaking back and forth violently in its display case! If you want to go check it out, the Museum is located at 3419 Oak Lane in Altoona. I believe the museum is open til the end of October, so you still have a few days to see the haunted wedding dress.
Oh, and Happy Halloween!
