Unique Wedding Location in South Carolina

Just finished adding a page on Wedding Locations in South Carolina to my Location Weddings site, and realized I had forgotten to add this little unique South Carolina wedding gem:  Cypress Gardens

To be truthful, it's a swamp.  No, really, it's a blackwater swamp that has served as a location for such movies as "The Patriot" and "The Notebook."

Not far from Charleston, South Carolina, Cypress Gardens is a pristine blackwater swamp, with cypress and tupelo trees which reflect in the glistening swamp water. Beautiful in an eerie way, you can make your way through the swamp forest on walking trails, or in a boat.  Now, if you want something truly unique for your wedding, you'll choose to arrive at your wedding by gliding through the swamp by boat.

I visited Cypress Gardens last May during a trip to Savannah, Georgia.  It was one of my more memorable nature walks.  But, then, I'm terrified of alligators.  And, yes, the swamp does have alligators, though I didn't see any that day.  But, if you're lucky, and alligators don't freak you out, you may have one as a wedding guest.

There are several sites within Cypress Gardens for your wedding, from the Conference Cottage to the Wedding Garden Gazebo, where, as I said, brides can make their grand entrance by bridal boat.

Rental prices range from $500 to $2500.  For more info you can contact Roxy at 843/553-0515.  Their website is:  CypressGardens.info. Below is a photo I snapped while walking the trails through Cypress Gardens.
