Average American Wedding Cost

If you're just starting your wedding planning, you might be wanting to know, "just how much does a wedding cost anyway?"

well, we could give you the average American wedding cost, which is now up to about $30,000. But, really, the answer is, "as much as you're willing to pay."

Remember, just because the average cost of an American wedding is about $30,000 doesn't mean you're wedding will cost $30,000. If you want, it could come in much lower. (If you're in the chips, the sky's the limit). I ran some cities through the wedding cost calculator over at costofwedding.com, which supposedly will give you the average cost of a wedding for a certain zip code. For 90210 it came in at $110,000, while just a few miles away the average was $26,000.

Does a more expensive wedding mean you love each other more? Does having an elopement ceremony on the beach for under $500 mean you love each other less?

Knowing the average cost of a wedding can be helpful, but don't feel pressured if you are unable (or, really, unwilling) to spend a fortune on your wedding. The purpose of this blog is to discover new and wonderful (and, many times, cheaper) places to tie that knot. within this blog, and within my website I have written about many inexpensive, yet romantic, places for ceremonies. Here are just a few of those entries:

And, if you're really interested in the average for your area, you can go to
