Vancouver Wedding Venues

If you're eloping to Vancouver, or want an inexpensive spot for your wedding ceremony, consider some of the parks in Vancouver where you can hold your ceremony for free on a first-come/first-served basis.  Not only is Vancouver a wonderful city for anyone to tie the knot, but it's also convenient for gays and lesbians from the U.S. who are legally allowed to marry in Canada.  What low-cost places might you consider?

Stanley Park- Stanley Park's a great venue for Vancouver weddings, with Ferguson Point, Ceperley Meadow and Lost Lagoon being very popular locations within the park.  The rules are:  no chairs, tents, awnings, tables, decorations, alcohol, rice or confetti and your group must be less than 50 people.

Queen Elizabeth Park - Wedding parties must keep to the pathways and paved areas.

Vancouver Beaches - my favorites are Kitsilano and Vanier, but English Bay and Sunset are also popular for wedding ceremonies.

You can have an inexpensive ceremony in Vancouver by using a wedding commissioner who will meet you at one of the public areas.  They usually charge $100 plus mileage (if they have to meet you somewhere).   You can find a list of Vancouver wedding commissioners at Vancouver Wedding Commissioners

My favorite Vancouver wedding commissioner is Ann Moore, who can be reached at bmoore15@telus.net.  If you're eloping and don't have witnesses, let her know so she can make the necessary arrangements.

For more elaborate wedding ceremonies, you might also consider renting the Celebration Pavilion at Queen Elizabeth Park, located at the city's highest point, giving your guess fabulous views.  You can rent the pavilion from $250 to $700, with indoor seating for up to 100 people.

For perfect wedding ceremonies no matter what the weather, you might consider the Bloedel Floral Conservatory, a tropical paradise under a geodesic dome, complete with free-flying birds.  You can get more info by calling  604-257-8584.
