Election Year Weddings
Since a presidential election year is coming up, I thought you might want to know about a few hotels in which to hold your wedding which have also been visited by past presidents. Three pop up in mind:
Hotel del Coronado on Coronado Island, California; Colorado Hotel in Glenwood Springs, Colorado; and The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, Virginia
Hotel del Coronado
An old hotel on Coronado Island, just outside San Diego. The Del, as it's called, opened in 1888 and has been a favorite of politicians, celebrities and average Joe's ever since. The hotel counts 10 U.S. Presidents as visitors, including Franklin Roosevelt, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton. It's also been named the "number-one wedding destination in America" by the Travel Channel. The ocean views are fabulous and the island is great to walk around or bike around. You can have a grand wedding in their ballroom or a more intimate wedding on the beach. You can call for more wedding info at 619-522-8070.
Colorado Hotel
Another hotel is the Hotel Colorado, located in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, between Aspen, Vail, and Grand Junction. Hotel Colorado has been visited by such presidents as Theodore Roosevelt and William Taft, not to mention Al Capone and the Unsinkable Molly Brown. They've also been putting on weddings for 110 years. For more wedding info, call them at 970-945-6511, ext. #117.
The Jefferson Hotel
The Jefferson Hotel is located in Richmond, Virginia and has been visited by hordes of celebrities as well as presidents, including Presidents Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Calvin Coolidge, Harry S. Truman, Woodrow Wilson and Ronald Reagan. Their ballroom can accomodate up to 360 guests. Call for more info at 804-649-4612
