Let's face it; special destinations make special wedding photos, right? Why not push the envelope a little and go for an adventure destination wedding.
Hot Air Balloon Wedding:
If you want an unusual wedding photo opp, consider a hot air balloon wedding. Most hot air balloon companies will accommodate wedding parties, and some will even take just the two of you up, in case you want an intimate elopement ceremony, or you want cheering friends and family on the ground below.
Most hot air balloon companies have sunrise and sunset flights available. Some hot air balloon destinations and companies worth noting are Sonoma and Napa Valley, California (800-711-2998), Palm Springs California (760-776-5785) Aspen, Colorado (800-755-0935) and Albuquerque, New Mexico (800-351-9588).
A Roller Coaster Wedding:
Why not say "I do" as you plunge 215 feet on the Nitro at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, N.J.? Or, the Cyclone at Coney Island's Astroland, or the Dragon Coaster at Rye Playland in New York with views of Long Island Sound.
Another coaster worth considering for your wedding ceremony is the Stratosphere roller coaster at the Stratosphere in Las Vegas, which wraps around the top of the Stratosphere Tower, 900 feet above the Strip. At a top speed of 30 mph, the ride itself might be considered a bit tame. But, you are 900 feet in the air, which does add to the thrill.
Bungee Wedding:
A bungee wedding is definitely not for the timid. But, for the bride and groom who pushed the envelope long ago and wish to go even further, a bungee wedding might just be the ticket. Wedding Dreams of Las Vegas (1-888-293-3658) provides a bungee wedding package starting at $495, which includes the use of the 175 ft. tower for the bride and groom, minister and up to 20 guests for 30 minutes.
Sky Dive Wedding:
Taking the wedding plunge can be even more exciting as you take a plunge from an airplane. Do you have to be a professional sky diver to have a sky dive wedding? No, just be a little adventurous (some would say, crazy).
A couple places you might consider for your sky diving wedding are: Atlanta Skydiving Center in Atlanta, which has held numerous sky diving weddings. Call them at 770-684-3483 or go to their website at ascskydiving.com.
Another company which performs skydiving weddings is Vegas Extreme Skydiving located at the Jean Airport in Jean, just south of Vegas off Interstate 15. You can have a preacher marry you in the airplane on the climb up, say "I Do," then take the plunge. You can have a video of the event so you can actually prove to everyone back home you did it.
