More Lighthouse Weddings

Here are a few more lighthouses to consider if you want to get married in a lighthouse:

Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse - Michigan

Nicknamed "The Castle at the Straits" because of its castle-like gothic details, the Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse was built in 1892 between Michigan's upper and lower peninsulas known as the Straits of Mackinac. The lighthouse is currently being restored and was reopened to public tours in 2004, just in time for your wedding! Email Bruce Lynn at lynnbe@michigan.gov for more information.

Currituck Beach Lighthouse - North Carolina

The last major brick lighthouse built on North Carolina's Outer Banks, the 162-foot lighthouse contains 214 steps. Weddings ranging in sizes of 5 to 150 guests are held on the grounds of the lighthouse compound, and you can email for more information to info@currituckbeachlight.com.

Pellworm Lighthouse - Germany

According to their website, "Captain Eberhardt will conduct a maritime ceremony to launch the ship of your marriage onto its journey into the harbour of your future life together. Then the newlyweds will go up to the observation gallery for their first walk together, following the lighthouse beacon which will show them their future way." You then will be treated to sekt and other specialties. Don't worry, sekt may sound unappealing, but it's "sparkling wine" in German. Email W.Eberhardt@Leuchtturm-hochzeit.de for more information.
