Lighthouse Weddings

One unique location for a wedding or elopement ceremony is a lighthouse. Many people are drawn to lighthouses because for some reason, lighthouses are romance. Perhaps it's because they harken back to a more romantic era, or perhaps it's the beauty of the sea around them. Here are just a few lighthouses you might consider:

Heceta Head Lighthouse - Oregon

Located on a cliff in Yachats, Oregon, the Heceta (pronounced “Ha – SEE – Ta”) Lighthouse is often considered the most beautiful lighthouse in the world. It's a working lighthouse with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and the beach below. You have several options when choosing a spot for your ceremony at the lighthouse. You can choose to have your wedding ceremony on the West lawn, where the sun sets each night behind the rocks, on the beach below the station, or you can choose the Victorian Keeper's House in which to exchange vows. Very small groups of 15 people or less can choose a ceremony on the grounds at this magnificent lighthouse.

You might also consider having your honeymoon in the restored Queen Anne-style Keeper’s House. Email keepers@hecetalighthouse.com for more information

Admiralty Head Lighthouse - Whidbey Island, Washington

Located on Whidbey Island, Washington, in the heart of Puget Sound. Small wedding parties of 15 or fewer may be accommodated indoors for a ceremony in the lighthouse dining and sitting rooms.

Kona - Hawaii

If you want a remote lighthouse for your wedding, contact info@konaweddings.com about having your wedding ceremony at a private and remote lighthouse. You will have to be driven to the lighthouse in a 4x4, so be ready for an adventure.

Point Arena Lighthouse - Northern California

Located in Northern California, south of Mendocino, the Point Arena Lighthouse is one of the tallest lighthouses in California at 115-ft tall. Some feel the view is probably the best you'll ever have along the coast. For a wedding ceremony only, prices start at $350 for up to 8 people. Of course, you will have to provide your officiant.

You can arrange to stay overnight in one of the Keeper Quarters, which have spectacular views, making a great honeymoon location. There are a total of 6 separate lodging quarters for you and your guests, from $150 to $225 per night. For more information you can email palight@mcn.org
