Destination Weddings and Eloping are Great
Welcome to LocationWeddings.net Blog. Destination weddings are one of the most popular types of weddings today, and this blog exists to share even more wonderful and interesting places to wed.
Sure, people still enjoy the church and reception with all of their family around them, but today it is becoming more and more common to think outside the box and the destination wedding is just the way to go. What are the pros and cons of a destination wedding?
On The Pro Side
1. It can be easier to plan. If you're eloping or you have immediate family with you it's almost like planning a vacation, with the added step of finding an officiant and a ceremony site.
2. It can be cheaper. Sure, there are big destination weddings you can plan that are expensive, and we'll talk about those too. But, if you keep it small, sometimes just eloping, you can get married for a fraction of the cost of what a big wedding would cost.
3. The honeymoon begins after you say "I do." No need to plan a honeymoon after you've already planned a wedding. If you have a destination wedding in Hawaii, your honeymoon can be Hawaii. wedding is that some of your family can spend a relaxing week together as well.
On The Con Side
1. You and your guests have travel expenses. It may prohibit some guests from attending. (Of course, that could be your point)
2. Some family members and friends might be offended they didn't have the opportunity to attend your wedding. You might be able to remedy this by having a reception party upon your return.
A destination wedding can really be anything you make it: eloping, small intimate wedding, big lavish affair (ala Tom Cruise's wedding). Hopefully you'll find some ideas on our blog and in our website, http://www.locationweddings.net
